MATT HERZOG

Rock - Minneapolis, MN

Raised in Owatonna, MN, multi-instrumentalist Herzog first stepped into the music scene in 1999 when "The Half Ton Club" won a battle of 27 bands held at the legendary “Cabooze”. HTC played throughout the midwest for the next 5 years and released 3 albums.

Upon releasing the 2021 debut solo album, "Keep It Light", Matt Herzog returned to performing in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. The intentional selection of skilled bandmates quickly placed the group on the stages of large outdoor festivals (“Raspberry Fest, Harvest Fest and headlining Steele County Fair). Given the opportunity to play The Parkway Theater in Minneapolis, Herzog took a chance by adding a small horn section, and he loved the energy so much that he began arranging horn parts for shows to follow, including an invitation to return to 'The Parkway' just six months later.

Herzog's second solo album 'Under The Stack' marks his highest fidelity work yet. The 6 song EP (releasing in July, 2026) was recorded at The Terrarium (Jason Obergfall as Engineer) and mixed by Kevin Bowe.

The diverse styles of the band members creates a refreshingly transparent sound that features pure vocal harmonies, crafty guitar hooks, brass and melodic instrumental passages. Compelling lyrics complement the group's technical range drawing from an array of rock and funky-blues influences.
